The versatile Vanguard Lions, who can shoot from afar, run the fastbreak, or score from the key, relied on their old faithful offensive weapons today to take down an upset-minded, eighth-seeded Harris-Stowe State College (MO) team in the first round of the 27th Annual NAIA Division I Women’s Basketball National Championships.
Carrying the load of being the No. 1 ranked team in the nation for the entire season, the top-seeded Vanguard Lions received a season-high 26 points from two-time NAIA All-American Rachel Besse in a 74-64 victory over Harris-Stowe.For more, click here.
